Elvira Piedra was born in California and has lived in France, Alaska, and New Mexico, where she worked with the photographer Walter Chappell. Her photographs have been published in View Camera Magazine, Hayden's Ferry Review, and SEITIES. She photographs mostly with an 8 x 10 inch view camera, making contact prints in a traditional darkroom, and occasionally enlarging some images digitally to produce pigment ink prints. She lives in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.
