I will admit, the primary goal of my work is self soothing. While I am creating it's a feeling of euphoria to find a stillness, a silence in my mind that otherwise is full of endless chatter and noise. When I touch pencil/brush to paper, my motive then is to bring forth the very soul, essence and personality of my subject; to also intertwine a trace of myself hidden within. I fully connect and hear the whispers from the animal(s) and translate that through my medium. I focus mainly on horses but no animal is safe from my gaze for a new muse.

I am self taught and into my second year of chasing the details that I mark down on paper, after a nearly 15 year lapse away from art. Most of my inspiration comes from my eclectic herd of 9 rescued Arabian horses; they are as broken as I am, yet still beautiful in their essence, presence and ability to inspire. We all currently reside in Lunenburg, VT.
